Tour itinerary

Day 1. Ulaanbaatar
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, transfer to the hotel. City tour including Sukhbaatar square a central point of Ulaanbaatar, Zaisan hill with panoramic view of whole city and Gandan monastery, the largest monastery in the country. After lunch at the restaurant in UB will be excursion to the Natural history museum where the biggest dinosaur skeletons in the world and the fossilized skeletons of dinosaurs found in Gobi Desert are kept intact. Welcome dinner in one of the finest restaurants in UB. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2. Drive to Mongolia ger camp and prepare for horseback riding tour
Drive to horseback ger camp at Elsen tasarkhai (280km west from Ulaanbaatar), a unique area of forest and sand dunes, and prepare for horseback riding tour. Overnight in ger camp.

Day 3-5. Horse riding tour to Karakorum
Horseback riding tour to Karakorum, the ancient capital (80km). Your guide, a local horseman, will accompany you, giving you the chance to discover the life and food of a nomadic family and horsemen during the tour. Overnight in tent.

Day 6. Visit the ruins of Ancient capital and oldest monastery
Drive to Karakorum, the 13th century capital of the Mongolian Empire. Visit to Erdene Zuu monastery of 16th century and ruins of ancient Karakorum. Overnight in ger camp.

Day 7-9. Horseback riding tour to Orkhon waterfall
Continue the horse back riding tour to Orkhon waterfall. At first the terrain will be wide open valleys then mountain fresh river before finally changing to a forested mountain and 20ms wonderful waterfall. Overnight in tent.

Day 10. Relax
Spend a day of leisure around the waterfall. You can just relax and discover its scenic beauty or take the exciting opportunity to swim, fish and hike. Overnight in ger camp.

Day 11. See the Takhi, the Asian wild horse                                                  
Drive to Hustai National Park and see the Takhi, the Asian wild horse. Visit Takhi’s small museum. Overnight in ger camp.

Day 12. Ulaanbaatar and city tour options
Drive back from the camp to Ulaanbaatar. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. Visit the Bogd Khan Palace Museum and the National history museum. Evening art performance/folklore. A farewell dinner. Overnight in hotel.
