Tour itinerary
Day 1. Ulaanbaatar
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, transfer to the hotel. City tour including Sukhbaatar square a central point of Ulaanbaatar, Zaisan hill with panoramic view of whole city and Gandan monastery, the largest monastery in the country. After lunch at the restaurant in UB will be excursion to the Natural history museum where the biggest dinosaur skeletons in the world and the fossilized skeletons of dinosaurs found in Gobi Desert are kept intact. Welcome dinner in one of the finest restaurants in UB. Overnight in hotel.
Day 2. Lake Ugii
Drive to the direction of the Lake Ugii, 400 kms. Lunch on the way at tourist camp near Elsen Tasakhai Sand Dune. Arrive at Ugii tourist camp in the late afternoon. Overnight in ger at tourist camp.
Day 3. Birdwatching
Breakfast at the camp. You will be instructed on the location of bird spots and how to observe birds. Trekking around the lake, birdwatching and photographing. Overnight in ger at tourist camp.
Day 4. Birdwatching
Full day watching birds and photographing of the wildlife. Overnight in ger at tourist camp.
Day 5. Relax
Continue observing fauna and flora of the area along the Lake. Visit local nomad family for exploring their lifestyle. Horse riding. Overnight in ger at tourist camp.
Day 6. Karakorum
Drive to Karakorum, ancient capital city of Great Mongolian Empire. Lunch at the tourist camp. Look around little town Karakorum and see historical towel on the hill. Visit to Erdene Zuu monastery of 16th century, built on the site of the legendary capital city, using their bricks and stones from the ruins of Karakorum. Overnight in ger at tourist camp.
Day 7. Ulaanbaatar
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to the hotel. You may choose a city tour where you can visit souvenir and cashmere shops. A gala farewell dinner and evening art performance. Overnight in hotel.
